Insulation fits into two categories based on the way it performs its function:

Bulk Insulation – Thermal and Acoustic

Polyester Batts: Made from polymer fibers that are cross lapped and bonded into a a batt, soft to the touch & non-irritant, mainly used for thermal insulation in ceilings, external walls and under floors. Also available in a range of thicknesses and densities to suit many acoustic purposes, while not as efficient as Rockwool and Glasswool products they are more user friendly.

Glasswool Batts: Made from 65% recycled glass that is then melted down and spun into a matt offibres, mainly used for thermal insulation in ceilings and external walls. Acoustic Glasswool Batts are the same composition as the thermal batts but much denser for use as a sound barrier in internal walls, between floors, home theatre rooms.

Wool Blend Batts: Generally made from a blend of sheep wool and polymer fibers that are cross lapped and bonded into a batt, must be fireproofed & treated to prevent insect attack and mainly used for thermal insulation in ceilings and walls.

Cellulose Loose Fill: Made from Recycled paper which must be treated for fire proofing is pneumatically installed and mainly used for installing into low pitched or skillion roofs. Settling may occur over a period of time and must be allowed for when installed.

Sheeps Wool Loose fill: Made from natural Pure Sheep’s wool or recycled wools. It must be treated to prevent insect infestation, mainly used for installing into low pitched or skillion roofs, as with Cellulose settlement may occure over a period of time and must be allowed for when installed.

Rockwool Batts: Made from melted volcanic rock that is then melted down and spun into a matt fibres, mainly used for acoustic insulation.

Reflective Insulation

Reflective foil laminate: Double sided reflective foil laminates are made from aluminum foils that are then laminated with a woven polymer fabric mainly used as a wall wrap or sarking under roofs.

Reflective foil laminate with bulk insulation blanket: Is a glass wool blanket bonded to reflective foil laminate, mainly used under metal deck roofs for insulation, as well as condensation control.

Foil board, Bubble Wrap and Foil batts: Are other reflective type products available.

Downlight Protectors: Are flexi fire resistant down enclosers.
